“If David thus calls him Lord, how can he be his son?” Matthew 22:45

This is an important question because this verse of Scripture is important to our understanding of the Universe.

If we read the discussion of Jesus’ relationship to David only as an example of Jesus defeating the arguments of the Pharisees, and establishing his place as God’s son, then we miss an important part of what he is saying.
