. . . and I know you read this stuff because you are now afraid of being seen. Instead of putting your odious little leaflet in the letterbox, you waited until I was away and stuffed it under the church door.
Well, it got a little soggy, but not to worry, it’s the same publication that you left last year. Do you remember that? Do you remember delivering your glossy newsletter from “Tony Alamo Christian Ministries”, inside which you folded a black and white leaflet declaring that Pope John Paul II is a Nazi war criminal (“is” not “was” because the leaflet dated from 1990). The colour newsletter has testimonials from correspondents in various African nations – it declares “All the letters are recent, from 2003 to 2005”.
Do you remember last year that I thought it odd that you would go to the lengths of reprinting material from 1990, but not include up to the minute news of Pastor Alamo. Do you remember that? Do you remember the CNN report from September 2008? Here it is to jog your memory?
Federal and state police raided an evangelist’s compound in Arkansas late Saturday to investigate whether any children have been physically or sexually abused, officials said. The raid is part of a two-year investigation into a compound near Texarkana, Arkansas, owned by Tony Alamo Christian Ministries, said Bill Sadler of the Arkansas State Police. About 100 agents were on the 10- to 15-acre site late Saturday and met with no resistance, he said.
But 2008 is old news when it comes to Tony Alamo, isn’t it? He was found guilty of child abuse last July and sentenced to 175 years in prison last September. He took girls as young as nine years old across the state line to have sex with them. In case you missed the piece on Fox News, here is what the judge said about Tony Alamo:
“Mr. Alamo, one day you will face a higher a greater judge than me, may he have mercy on your soul,”
The judge is a considerably better Christian than I am, I would wish that a man guilty of abusing little girls would burn a long time in Hell.
I would have thought that someone so keen on delivering Alamo’s literature would have kept right up to date with things, like the New York Times report last Wednesday on the order for Alamo to make restitution to his victims.
Of course, Alamo claims the prosecution and the conviction are due to those who plot against him, doesn’t he? Don’t his problems arise from the government and the Vatican, if one believes his literature?
But look at what he himself says, he says that ‘marriage’ with minors is permissible. He says that young girls can be married before they reach the legal age of consent. When Alamo himself advocates breaking the law of any society that calls itself civilized, his protestations of innocence ring completely hollow.
You creep around with your hate literature, pushing it under doors and into letterboxes when no-one can see you. If you are so confident, why not come out into the light?
I would be quite happy to pass on to An Garda Siochana details of a person who supports an advocate of child abuse.
