In Rome last week watching people photographing almost everything in the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica I wondered if they were so busy taking photographs that they were missing seeing the beauty in what they were photographing. It seemed to me that the photo was more important than the enjoyment of the sight and the moment.

  2. It’s like the old Simon and Garfunkel lyrics about talking without speaking and hearing without listening, perhaps we are now photographing without seeing.
