Come back, Charlie! — 2 Comments

  1. Ian I’m constantly amazed at your knowledge of Australian events given that most of the world thinks we speak German and have fun on the piste. (well there’s a little truth in the pissed bit)

There’s little difference between our two opposing parties as well but you’re right, for the first time in a long time, we have quite an eloquent leader, he’s young, hopeful and takes over the reins of a Labor party that has been beleagued by leadership controversy for the past 11 years so there’s a lot of hope riding on Kev. (um I only know the name of the Irish Prime Minister because of Headrambles! *shame on me*)

  2. Baino,

Since Gough Whitlam was sacked in about 1975, I’ve taken a passing interest – off the top of my head I can name Menzies, Curtain, Whitlam, Fraser, Hawke, Keating, Howard and Rudd as PMs – must be a big gap between the first two and Whitlam though!
