  2. Unusual to have your passport checked when in transit, maybe they were looking for someone in particular? And I think if I was going to enter a country illegally, it would hardly be through and airport checkpoint although people try it on with fake passports. As for your tram man . . someone should have shot him off the train at the time he was conscious and abusive!

  3. It’s the lack of brain on the part of officialdom that I can never fathom.

    Stand at passport control and it becomes obvious who must be dealt with; eject drunken passengers at a point where they are not in danger – otherwise a whole pile of other problems arise. It’s not rocket science.
