Dogs and heaven — 4 Comments

  1. I’m very sorry to hear about Bella, Ian. You know my attitude and love for dogs and I hate to hear of one passing. My thoughts are with you.

Maybe after a time you can nip over to my friends in ASH and give another dog a loving home. He [or she] won’t replace Bella but will help to fill the void left by her. I’m going on experience here!

  3. Ian I’m so sorry, this is beautifully worded. I still can’t bring myself to write about the death of our faithful dog two years ago, finding the words is so difficult. I don’t think that dog souls ever leave a family, they’re amazing creatures.

  4. Bella was with us from when our children were nine and seven, I think she represented so much of that happy time and was so much a part of our memories. Is there something called transference in psychology, where one’s feelings are projected onto some person or object? Maybe my grief was about transference, about Bella being invested with years of emotions
