  1. Did you know the addiction centre here in Ireland has a fee structure greater than the cost of flying to the US to the Betty Ford in Arizona. Or the one about the Galvia in Galway. When I was travelling from Tipperary by bus to uni during the 90s you’d see the gigantic funding thermometer where they were looking for a new MRI suite and funds to pay the salaries to run the thing. There was collections on the street and outside churches for the thing. The thing is as you know, the Galvia, now the Bon Secours are entirely private. Indeed I would go so far as to say aggressively private. But they still fundraised from people that would never ever ever EVER had the benefit of the MRI.

  2. Ever since I heard about the huge private fortune made from the Irish sweepstakes, nothing would surprise me!
