Five Nations Memories — 2 Comments

  1. That was lovely Ian!!! More than can be said for the game today!! It is a shame that a blatent ‘trip’ cost Wales so dearly. Would not have happened all those years ago.
I have to prompt a memory of ‘And we were singing, hymns and Aris, land of my fathers, Ar hyd y Nos.’ Another great song by Max Boyce and the chorus is still sung today during matches. He recalls trying to sing it to a predominently english crowd, who sang, with rather posh voices…’and we were singing, hymns and Arias, land of my Fathers…..and harrys got a horse’. Ah…those were the days!!!

  2. The music is part of the legend.

England winning the World Cup in 2003 will never match the magical quality of JPR on a long run accompanied by the crowd at the Arms Park.
