Cranmer beats pseudo rock — 2 Comments

  1. Some “modern/contemporary” approaches to churches and worship have taken on an almost cult-like sense with a “leader” who decides everything and preaches about his (and it’s almost always him) pet ideas about certain Bible verses. Youth services in Dublin generally has a “praise” band with whatever “contemporary” music they know and rarely stray from the “modern” evangelical pattern. My worst experience of a “praise” band was at last October’s Dublin Diocesan Synod in Templecarrig School where the “praise” band providing the music for the celebration of the Eucharist played “When I survey the woundrous cross” through the great silence after Communion.
